Everybody knows the sad ending of the argentinian poet Alphonsine Storni. Unlike the song, Alphonsine threw herself from a cliff to end her suffering life with cancer.
I remember the first time I heard this song, it was on those days when I used to study piano. Waltzes were the favorite and easy musical pieces for piano recitals while "Alphonsine and the sea" was the musical piece for guitar students. Nice times!
